Manton Junction Signal Box. Situated at the site of the former Manton Junction station, the signal box was opened by the Midland Railway Company in 1913 and is a type 4c.Opened in 1848 by the Syston and Peterborough Railway, the station was situated off the road connecting the two villages and was just over one mile (1.6 km) from each, or just over one-half mile (0.8 km) by the public footpaths that were soon established. It was one of only a handful of stations in the small county of Rutland; only Oakham is still open.Manton Junction is between Corby, Harringworth Viaduct and Oakham (Rutland).
