last time i operated it there was a smell of burnt plastic. after sniffing around i found out that the cable and the wall socket started to melt. the "isolating" back of the machine had bubbles and melting spotes where it was in contact with the pipes I would pull the wires back to the juncture box and run new wires to the dishwasher but that is your option. If you have enough wire after cutting the burned ends and the copper looks clean then you can use it but I like to be safe.
