carnaud metal box mansfield Internal - Mansfield Metalbox – Photos and History
After researching I remember 18 gauge was the choice thickness, is this correct? I called one of the local metal warehouses and they said they only carry 18ga in cold rolled. Do I need cold rolled or hot rolled? Does it matter? I was quoted about $120 for a 4x8 sheet does this sound right? Thanks. I am a body work noob.

If the Icon boxes are primarily 16ga and 18ga, I really doubt that the standard US General boxes are also 16ga. Husky Industrial boxes are 18ga and they seem as thick as or thicker than US General.What thickness do you all think is okay to use for the angle iron? I'm leaning towards 1/8" thick with 1" width angle iron/steel, but might use .

The site has an amazing history, and is nearing the end of its life due to its inhabitants (Barringers/CMB/Carnaud Metal Box/Crown) moving out after being situated there for over 100 years. The Metal Box factory on the Rock Valley brownfield site was demolished – leaving only the clocktower – in 2011 after closing the previous year.
