The Instrument Design and Fabrication Core Facility offers a wide range of services for ASU researchers, peer institutions and private industry partners. With expert staff and capabilities from our Electronics and Machine shops along with our Glassblowing service resources, we are ready to help you accomplish your project goals.
In addition to our traditional fabrication processes, the lab has a three-axis CNC mill, a three-axis CNC router and a water jet machine. The lab is open to all upper-division design school students to use during open hours, providing they have had the intro demonstration and have a lab card.Regular use of standard machine shop equipment including, but not limited too; CNC and manual milling machines, large machining centers, CNC and manual lathes, grinders and high-powered.Students who work on projects in the Innovation Hub have access to more than million worth of plastic, polymer and metal 3D printing technologies that supports a wide range of research, material and process development and educational training.
