Unfortunately the ring is a standard size flood light expecting a standard round electrical box. It doesn't fit the existing so it won't have a complete seal allowing water to enter the Ring lights. . This other one had it's connector cracked and again sagging out of the hole due to the weight of the old heavy flood light. The box was 3 1/2 .

I haven't found any electrical outdoor box that would be inserted into a cutout so that the light can be mounted flush to the siding. The box needs an adapter ring attached to hang a standard fixture (or to mount switches, receptacles, etc.) By itself that is just a junction box called a "4-S" (for 4" square). Look for a 4-S to 4-O plaster ring.This is a 45 degree angle adapter able to mount to 4" Circular Outlet Boxes for ring floodlight camera - Use 2 together to make 90. It is made of 2 pieces. Eeek, I think that would be difficult if you do not have roof/attic access to the top of the light boxes as they are usually connected to the rafters via side nails. I may be wrong on that as I have never tried and different builders might use different .I thought about installing a 2"x4" rectangular junction box on the inside of the wall behind where I want to install the exterior junction box, but I wasn't sure what to do with the wire between the 2 junction boxes. I don't think I can fit set-screw connectors/EMT between the 2 junction boxes since they will only be 1-1.5" apart. And it seems silly to wire a brand new hole and junction box and wiring to have duplicate on-demand lighting when this Ring Floodlight Cam already has lights available.
